Waste slums and sewers are found all over Sub Sahara Africa and unfortunately the inhabitants of these horrendous slums are subjected to a very low standard of living.
Children that live in these slums reside in overcrowded shacks with no running water or electricity and dirty surroundings. These children play in alleyways covered in sewage and trash and most are not receiving basic education that every child should be entitled to.
40-70% of the African population live in slums and the children are affected the most. Children living in slums and gutters often die of hunger, diarrhea and other airborne and water diseases caused by poor sanitation and overcrowding. Those children that are lucky enough to survive beyond the age of six can find themselves working on the streets to support their household; as many parents become ill and unable to work. Young children as young as eight become street prostitutes and are made to work in other illegal and hazardous jobs.
Your donation can help us with our commitment to help as many children living in these African slums as possible.
