Homeless people are some of the most deeply excluded people in the community. They include young people, ex offenders, drug abusers, illegal and legal immigrants and the mentally ill. Homelessness can often also affect those who are seen to be respectable, educated and socially integrated individuals.
Working with homeless people can be challenging and requires volunteers and workers to be attentive, proactive and persistent in order to really understand the individual needs of each homeless person.
Our main work with homeless people is helping them to find accommodation and supporting them with the transitional process, however our dedicated Street and homeless outreach team also supports these individuals with all aspects of rehabilitation by incorporating MERS.
We are always looking for volunteers to join this team so please get in touch to find out more.
