Single parents experience a variety of emotions that relates to isolation and loneness. The frustration of being a single parent can sometimes lead to stress, anxiety, emotional meltdowns, mental illness and other stress related illnesses.
Single parents often suffer in silence as they are not typically supported in the same way other vulnerable groups are, however the repercussions of a suffering single parent is bound to effect the children in that family as well as other family members.
It’s important that single parents and other vulnerable families are given as much support as needed in order to help prevent any of the above stress related symptoms and anti social behavior from the children coming out of these families.
Our Single Parent and Family Outreach team also support vulnerable two parent families including families with low income, families that have at least one parent or child with a drug or alcohol related issue or families effected by sexual abuse.
We always need experienced and inexperienced workers to volunteer in this team so please contact us to find out more.
